Description of the Route

Commencing from either Alice Springs or Yulara (Uluru Airport), our journey begins towards Ayers Rock (Uluru). Our first stop is at the Mt Conner lookout, often called False Uluru or Fool-uru, to admire the breathtaking views of this remarkable red mountain. A brief pause at Curtin Springs for a restroom break is followed by reaching our campground, where we enjoy lunch. (*Note: Guests joining from Alice Springs will have lunch provided, but those coming from Ayers Rock must arrange their lunch before joining the tour.)

Post-lunch, our adventure continues to the Red Centre’s Aboriginal interpretive cultural centre. Here, we delve into this exceptional national park’s rich cultural, historical, ecological, and geological stories. Filled with enthusiasm and expectation, we make our way to Uluru’s base, overwhelmed by the enormous monolith’s stunning size and beauty as we approach it. Our exploration starts with a walk towards the Mutitjulu waterhole, where we uncover sacred rock art in ancestral caves and absorb ancient tales and dreamtime legends of Kuniya and Liru. Our journey proceeds to Kuniya Piti, followed by a brief trip to Kantju Gorge. En route, we pass through revered sites, including an elder’s cave and the world’s oldest pantry, and reach Central Australia’s tallest waterfall – a magnificent sight, particularly during rainfall. After an intensive day of intimate exploration of this globally significant rock, we relax to enjoy one of the world’s most stunning sunsets. This experience is enhanced by panoramic views of Uluru, complemented by a prepared dinner.
